HP Photosmart B110 Scan driver not working after latest windows 10 64bit update

After the latest update from Microsoft on my windows 10 64bit operation system the scan diver failed to work correctly on my B110 wireless HP printer.

Print and photocopy functions work okay so it’s just a scanning issue.

Printer is connected wirelessly, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest full function drivers from my device for the HP Web page but this has failed to cure my scanning issue and when I run the HP scan and printer wizard it keeps on informing me that the scan driver was unable to communicate with the scanner.

Any help with this will be much appreciated.

Having carried out the instructions given under the following link:

HP Printers - Network Scanner Connection is Lost (Windows)

I can confirm that my scanner is not working through the HP Solution Centre only, in that I can print but not scan. It flags up a "scanner error" message and I can’t get the scanner to work through the HP solution centre, even after turning off the scanner and uninstalling all HP software and reinstalling the latest software.

I am able to scan using all other methods i.e. Scan with the Windows Scan App, Scan with Paint, Scan with windows Fax and Scan, Scan with HP Scan and Capture App and Scan from printer Embedded Web Server.

When I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor it flags up a "driver check error" when finding and fixing scanning problems with the following message:

Scan driver is unable to communicate with the product. Save your work, and then close all applications. Remove power from your printer by pulling out the printer’s power cord. Plug it back in, turn it back on and then click “Restart Computer”.

However, I am unable to scan through the HP Solution Centre even after carrying out all the instructions i.e. repowering my printer restarting my PC and then uninstalling HP software and then reinstalling the latest downloaded software version from the HP web page.

I believe this is a HP Scan driver issue that is used by the HP Solution Centre only, as the problem is unique to the HP Solution Centre and I have only stated getting this scanning problem after the latest windows 10 64bit cumulative update installation.

Please also note that I have no third party anti-virus or firewall installed on my PC so this rules out any issues regarding these.

Any help with this will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi @RAC01,

Thank you for trying out those steps and getting back to me.

Since the issue is only related to the HP Solution Center, I will recommend you try out the steps in the document below. when you open the document, please scroll to the section titled "'HP Solution Center cannot run' or 'Scan is busy or in use' error displays with a network connected printer" and get back to me with the results.

HP Printers - After Windows 10 Upgrade, Printer Problems Occur

If you are still experiencing the issue after trying out the steps in the link above, I recommend you contact HP for further instructions.

Contact HP:
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear

If this helps show appreciation for my reply by hitting the “thumbs up” below, or click the "Accept as Solution" button if I have helped you reach a solution.

Thank you for supporting me with this, unfortunately I am not able to resolve my scanning issue carrying out the steps under the following link:

Furthermore, I was not able to find a HP Support contact telephone number for my product type (HP Photosmart B110C) it’s for this reason I decided to get some support on this forum.

Your assistance with this will be much appreciated.
