Hi,
I have tried the XP, Windows 7 and 8 in compatible mode and I just able to finish the installation, is always throwing an error.
I currently see the printer but it has a warning symbol.
The Event Viewer says...
PnPDriverNotFound
P1: x64
P2: USB\VID_03F0&PID_7411&REV 0100&MI 00
Any help would be very appreciated!
Thank you,
Ant

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Photosmart C4680 All-in-One Printer and it does not get installed and gives the error message you posted. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- Are you facing and issue installing the printer on Windows Server 2012 or WinXP, Win7 and Win8?
- Are you installing the drivers from a disk or have downloaded it online.
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software to diagnose and automatically perform several troubleshooting tasks known to resolve the issue.
- If you are still receiving the message after running the print and scan doctor, I recommend trying to uninstall, then reinstall the HP software from the HP website.

Please feel free to reply with the results. Cheers! 🙂

Hi Kazi,
I am trying to install it on a Windows Server 2012 R2, I have tried all options (CD , Download, Extracting the files from the download and using compatibilty mode...)
I also have tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.0, everytime I get this window (print screen attached)
BTW, the Doctor does detect the printer and is telling me that I need to install the full printer software (C4600), is when is "checking the system..." when it fails.
Thank you!

Well, score another point to Apple...
After a week of struglling with Windows Server 2012 R2 and the HP Printer, I gave up.
I moved the printer to the Mac Mini Server (latest OS) and plug the USB in, I went to the printer settings and the printer was ready to print, no extra drivers, no downloads or utilities; I shared the printer and now is on the network.
I guess we can declare the problem sloved but not on Windows Server, if you are looking for that solution, sorry but I spent a whole week and I could not make it work.
