HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have recently aquired an HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-All Printer C309a but it did not have the power cord. I had a hp power cord from another printer which plugged right into the back of  the unit. The lights came on and the ink carriage  did it's thing and the message came up "no ink Cartredges" so while I was looking on line to see which ink it took the unit just turned off and would not come back on. I looked on the transformer on the cord. It is rated at +30V  333mV  and the plug on the back of the unit says +32V  1400mV.  Will this cord work with my C309a?   After a while I plugged it back in and the unit came back on but cut off again after the ink carriage cycled.  Is there something wrong or is it because there are no ink cartredges in it??  or not the right volt/mV   Also, I have looked on the web and can find a power cord rated +32V  1500mV will this work if my other one will not?

Thanks for your help

Hello, @Marv45 - Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for joining the HP Forums! I read your post about your printer problem and I am happy to look into this issue for you!

Going through your post, it looks like an issue with the power unit / adapter of the printer. If the issue was with the ink cartridges, it will only give you the error message and will not cut off the power.

The power adapter for this printer is "AC to DC adapter - Input voltage 100-240VAC, 50/60 Hz, 1.56 A - Output voltage 32VDC, 50 watts - Molex 67969-0001 mini-fit connector". The part number for this is 0957-2230.

You can either order this through HP Part store: http://bit.ly/2i0EWeM

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Good luck 🙂
