I have an HP Officejet 6500 (one year old) running on Windows 7. Today I got an error message saying HP Solution Center will not work because I don't have the correct version of Adobe Flash installed. That message referred me to the Adobe site to download the latest version. When I did that, I am still getting the error message and Solution Center will not open. Further messages lead me to the "hpqdirec.exe" message, saying it is not installed. What's happening?
Additional note: it's the hpqdirec.exe application that is missing some windows component. Error message does not specify which component.

Hey TZap. Your going to need to "scrubber" the software to remove everything. After running the scrubber your going to need to reinstall the software. Heres the steps to run the scrubber:
Option 1: From Original installation CD:
1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
9. Download the full feature software and drivers
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-77752-2&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
10. Run the download to reinstall the printer
Option 2: If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:
1. Type %temp% in the run field
2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
9. Download the full feature software and drivers
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-77752-2&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
10. Run the download to reinstall the printer
Let me know if this does not resolve the issue.
Thanks,
Sean

I was getting a parsing error and performed the resolution that was listed. However, whenever I open my Solution Center I get a pop up asking if I want to allow the following program to make changes to my computer hpqdirec.exe
I am running Windows 7 and my printer is an HP Photosmart D110a. Any ideas?

I tried both sets of instructions: Using original disk; deleting the existing and downloading and installing the latest full feature software. I've done this over and over and still cannot get HP Solution Center to open. I can get a the scanner to operate if I put a document in the feeder or manually start the scan using the buttons on the printer.
I have an Officejet j6450, running on a Vista 64bit HP Pavillion desktop. Can someone please help me? I am extremely frustrated as the Solution Center was operating just fine a few days ago.
Thanks!
