HP AIO C6180
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi there !

I have HP Solution Centre installed on a Windows 7 64 bit computer for  AIO C6180 Series.  Initially i have tried reinstalling windows and installing the software and it works. However after a couple of updates i believe the Solution Centre stops running.

  • I get the main window but the status of the printer is not showing - the printer is connected fine and works with other software. When the software first opens there is a progress bar initally where the status should be and t goes blank
  • It says ' Ink levels are currently unavailable'
  • When I click on the scan buttons - they show the TWAIN logo but nothing happens and scannign doesnt work
  • When i try to go to the netowrk settings nothing happens
  • The buttons for image transfer works and the web links work.

I think this could be some flash issue or a result of a security update as it is only solution centre that is not working.

I have tried reinstalling, clearing temp files, and event installing the latest flash player but nothing seems to be working.

Would anybody be able to give any guidance with this?

Hello, @mineshmshah – Hope you are well 🙂

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel!

I see that you are having issues while using the HP solution center. Greatly appreciate your efforts in updating the flash player and reinstalling the drivers.

I would recommend a complete reinstall of the printer. Try the steps below:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries (including the solution center) and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Click the bottom-left Start button on desktop, type device manager in the search box and tap Device Manager on the menu.
  • Once in device manager, click on the view tab in the top & choose “Show hidden devices”.
  • Then from the device manager list, check the entries under “Printer”  – If there are any entries, please right click and choose “uninstall” – In the confirm device un-install pop-up, make sure you select the box which says “Delete the driver software for this device".
  • Also, check the entries under "printer queue" and "imaging devices" and repeat the same exercise. Delete any printer entry or any entry which says “Unknown device”.
  • Once done, close device-manger. Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (there is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Open run again, type “%temp%” and press enter to get the temporary files. Delete all the files here. Skip the items which cannot be deleted.
  • Now restart your computer again.
  • Now click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL30775/mp-76229-1/AIO_CDA_FSW_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe to download and install the full feature printer drivers.
  • Select the USB cable if prompted and complete the installation.

Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

Good luck 🙂
