OFFICEJET PRO 8710

For one of my HP printers- Just ran out of Black ink (955XL) with warranty date on pack 2020/04. Was working fine.

Replaced with new Black 955XL with warranty date on pack 2019/10 from back of store-room.

Printer reports that the replacement is "only for use in older printers"??

Same package, same markings LOS72A.

Called Support to be advised that when the warranty expires (ON THE INK!!!) the printer will not accept the new ink cartridge. If however the older cartridge was installed prior to warranty expiry, the printer will keep working until the cartridge is empty.

After using HP printers for more than 30 years, I have never heard of such rubbish- same ink ,same package.

Time to scrap all my HP printers in my office- I can't buy quantity of supplies any more.

Nice one HP, now you have one less customer- with 35 HP printers

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
