Hi,

I have a HP HP Officejet Pro L7590. And the driver is still not updated. I can't scan at all. When will it be updated?

I have a C4780 that won't scan with Mac 10.9 OS and this work-around WORKS GREAT. THANK YOU

vaccald, I likewise have a scanjet 4070, here's what I found to use as a workaround solution...

So I'm having the same problem, but discovered that the buttons on my (incredibly old) HP Scanjet 4070 seem to be a work-around. i.e. HP Scan still spits out worthless bars, but if I use the buttons on the scanner (which are customizable in sys pref's) the automator sequences provide perfectly usable files. I just can't scan any multi-page documents and save them in a single pdf like you can with the HP Scan software.

Note: do NOT go toying around in automator trying to "customize" the built-in HP scripts. They are not "universal" and will irreparably break if you try to open them in automator!

That's my experience so far, and my work-around, hope it might help 😕

Update: the buttons were tempermental at best, so i went into finder and found the scripts that they pointed to, and just dropped an alias for the one that i wanted on my desktop. scripts can be found at...

jwbbccp,

Thanks for your input.  It works up to a certain point.  Better than nothing!  Images can't be centered, croped or anything when sent to preview... I suppose we will have to wait until HP comes out with a fix... hopefully...

I'm using an OfficeJet 8600 Pro.  There is a new HP Scan download available that I just installed and it totally took care of the problem of the incompatibility with Mavericks OSX.  Glad HP made this available as the work-arounds were painful.

The new Mavericks-friendly downloads for my all-in-one appeared a couple of days ago.

As far as I can tell, everything is as it was before I upgraded to OS X v. 10.9.

So that's good.

Cranmer1549: was this a download fix from Apple or HP? What version is it

I haven't seen updates not from HP or Apple

..................nor me. The website suggests that there is a download for Photosmart B110a but in reality this does not work and to date no download has been advised by apple.

Hopefully soon? I am even reluctant to condsider purchasing a new printer as I'm unclear that this will be compatible!

This is a real issue.

I do not see an HP update for the B110 in process right now.  You are going to need to use Image Capture or Preview to scan for now.
