HP OfficeJet Pro 6830
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello All

I have sent a Word or Powerpoint doc to print. Doc contains screen grabs of images (eg a map). When document prints, the image gets cut off - appx 25 % of image doesn't appear.

I can PDF documents and print OK - image prints fine, BUT this is time consuming.

Any ideas please?

Hey @NothingToulouse,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that your images are not printing fully from Microsoft Word on your Windows 7 PC, but other types of document print fine. I can help you with that.

Most likely the issue is related to Word. What you can do within Word is check the print margins are correct. If the image is too large, you may have to remove the margins to get your image to print correctly. If you are still having issues after checking the margins, you can try printing the same document from Libre Office or Open Office.

Please let me know the results after performing the above. If you are able to print, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

No, it's not a margin problem. Same issue in Powerpoint! I nevertheless tested in Word this morning : I took a screen grab of my emails list using the Snipping Tool and pasted into a blank Word document.  When I printed it, the image was cut off on the right hand side and on the bottom - appx 20% of the image is missing.

I then changed the margin setting to Narrow and tried again, same issue. Even if I centre the image away from all the margins, it still cuts. I sent the same document to print on our main printer (Ricoh Aficio 5502) - the image prints perfectly.

So please research more and let me know - it's a 6830 problem, not Word or ppt !

With thanks.

PS I cannot use Open Office or Libre Office, unable to download as have no Admin rights.

That is two Microsoft programs you are having issues with and you mentioned that the printer works fine in other programs. As a test you can make a copy of a document from the front of the printer and check the margins. Outside of that, if you do not have admin rights on your PC, you would be unable to perform any troubleshooting steps I could recommend. For resolution your options would be to contact whoever has Admin rights on your computer or Microsoft for assistance.

I do not believe the problem is in Word and Powerpoint - I send the same images in the same document to another printer and it prints perfectly. I am not sure how making a copy and checking the margins will help - as I mentioned in the post, the image cuts off even when I centre it in the middle of the document away from all margins.

What trouble shooting tests do you propose - can you paste them here and I can send to the Admin team - they can remote connect and have a look.

Thank you.

Remove and re-add the print queue would be the only thing on the printer side that could help with that. Outside of that you are looking at settings within Word or Power Point.

I've been having the same issue. Powerpoint slides that are printed off are missing around 25% of the image. We've tried updating the firmware on the printer, re-adding the print queue, changing and updating the printer driver on the computer, checking all paper settings and making sure "fit to paper" is selected and that the paper sizes all match properly.

This started happening after we updated this computer to Office 2010. This also only happens on HP Color LaserJet M452dn printers. If we print to a different model it works fine.
