HP7500a crashed at the end of printing a single page in grayscale, with error C2FE0100.
Will not power up now.
Always gets the initial HP boot screen, then after about 15 seconds gets Error C2FE0100 with what looks like a Power symbol in middle of screen for 1/2 second, then white screen and all other controls start flashing.
See video clip at
https://www.dropbox.com/s/igifrwltvici4kp/HP7500a%20C2FE0100%20error.mp4?dl=0
It NEVER gets to a point when the printer control panel is available. HP Scan Doctor cannot see it as the printer never gets to being connected.
Have tried all the forum post advice for power down and power reset that i can find for this error.
Removed and replaced cartridges.
Checked and cleaned paper paths.
The printer did an auto firmware upgrade 2 weeks ago when enabing HP eprint web services, so firmware must be uptodate, although i think it is VERY strange that this happens so soon after a firmwware upgrade!
HP 920 ink cartridges installed and used.
Have seen other forum answers for other printers with similar problems, and private messages re partial resets, but other forum users do not seem to think this always worked to a resolution.
Can someone advise of partial reset and full reset instructions for the HP7500a?
Or any other action to take to fix this.
Thanks.

Hi,
I found this video on You Tube on how to reset a 6500. The model is slightly different to your one but I believe it will get you to a situation where you can bypass the state that you are getting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9uAOdn75zQ
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Turn the printer on and keep the power button pressed until the green light by the SD card slot turns on.
3. Press on the "home" button, press on the "back" button, and then twice (!) on the "home" button.
I think the sequencing is correct to ge tyou to a state where you can do a printer reset & hopefully this should clear your issue.
Alternatively, if your printer is still under warranty you can contact HP & log a service call.

I hope that this helps.

Hi Kryten
Thanks for information.
I has looked on Youtube for something like this and tried various things to get into the service screen.
The good news is that this got me into the service screen OK.
Did a Partial Reset.
Restarted, and it got me into the Language and Region setting (at this stage looking good!), and then to Continue Setup.
At this stage, it failed again with
Printer Error
C2FE0100
Power off and On again.
Doing this resulted in original problem.
So, did a Full Reset.
Same as above.
I see that there are other options in the service menu.
There are ...
00B Reset
No Print Mech
Clear Deriv
Mem Init Only
Can you advise what they do and is it worth while trying them?
Down to the last ditch effort now.
Printer is out of warranty, so unless any way of fixing thru these, it looks like a new printer.
Seriously disappointed in the reliability of this one.
Not made the way they used to be when i worked for HP!
Thanks.

Hi,
You could try the OOB reset but due to your previous experience I'm not sure that much will change.

Hi Kryten
I did try the 00B reset, and same outcome.
I did try the NO PRINT MECH option.
This did allow the HP7500 to boot to the startup menu on the printer, where everything lookedOK, except that printing would not function - clearly the NO PRINT MECH disables the complete print mechanism, and there was no way back. At this stage i could also connect to the device from Windows using the HP7500 software, but also no ability to print.
I could also check the printer firmware, which confirmed the firmware was uptodate and latest.
So, looked like i exhausted all options at this stage, so gave up, and bought a new printer.
