Hello Mr pcwizard.

I'm having the same problem with our HP M1536 mfp printer. It appears somebody set the password, but have forgotten it. Please share with me on how the steps on how to perform hard reset.

The suggestion didn't work for me.  Are these steps press and release, or continuous hold?

You need to press and hold till you get the message, and then release the buttons.

i will need this Info (how to reset a 1536dnf) too, we've just digged out this printer from one of our storage rooms :).
