HP Photosmart 5520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Windows 10 continues to try to update the following daily, but fails. How can I delete this from updating? This is the message I get daily about failing to update:  Hewlett-Packard  - Imaging - Null Print - HP Photosmart 5520 series - Error 0x8024200b

Hey @drk1!

Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

I can see your computer keeps trying to update HP Photosmart 5520.  I should be able to provide some suggestions that may help resolve this issue.  It sounds like you are experiencing a software issue.  The first thing I recommend is to uninstall the HP software. After the uninstall is complete it would be a good idea to perform a disk cleanup in the computer. A disk cleanup will improve computer performance and clear temporary files that may cause issues during the install of software. Once the disk cleanup is complete you should restart the computer and re-install the HP software.

To uninstall HP software click here: Uninstalling HP Software

To perform a disk cleanup click here: Performing a Disk Cleanup

To download the HP software click here: HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers

Please post back and let me know how it goes!

Cbert,

Your advice was to uninstall the HP software and reinstall it using the directions you provided, however in those insrtructions Windows 10 is not mentioned, and it states the software is USB only. My connection is wireless over my network.

Thanks,  Dr K

Hey @drk1!

The connection should not just USB.  There are full feature software and drivers available for Windows 10 that allow you to print wireless.  The instructions for uninstalling are the same for Windows 10 as they are for Windows 8.  Just go into add remove programs, select the HP Software and click uninstall.  After that is done do the Disk cleanup.  The steps in the link I provided are the same for Windows 10.  After that is done restart and follow the link to the HP Software for Windows 10 here: Windows 10 driver (the link will start the download)

Let me know how it goes!
