Hey @surf89,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand you are trying to change the email address used for Scan to Email on your Laserjet CM1415fnw Printer. I can help you with that.

To change the settings:

  1. On the printer's display click on the Wireless icon that looks like a radio tower or the icon that looks like some computers connected by a wire.
  2. Note the printer's IP Address.
  3. In your web browser type in the IP Address as it appears on the printer and press Enter.
  4. In this window you should have a Scan tab along the tab. When you click on that you should find the option to change the associated email address.

Please let me know if you are able to change the settings. If you are, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Hi,

To clarify, the HP Color Laserjet CM1415 do not offer digital filing capabilities such as Scan to Email, meaning the solution you refer to is the HP Scan software of your printer.

The HP Scan uses your local mail client installed on your PC and attach the scanned page to your mail client's Send Mail dialog, meaning that any mail configuration can only be changed within your email client software settings (e.g. Outlook, Live Mail, etc.) and not from the HP software or device.

Regards,

Shlomi

My bad. ShlomiL's solution is correct, I was thinking of a similar model.

Hi I tried those steps however there is no "scan" tab. There are several tabs, including "fax" but no "scan"????? What do you suggest?

Oh, solution 2 makes more sense. I used to use outlook but now use gmail. The default goes to outlook. So I suppose the change needs to be made in outlook? If so, do you have any idea where, exactly, I might look in outlook to make the change to gmail? Or do I approach the problem from the gmail side? Thanks!

Hi,

You would need to configure Outlook to connect to your Gmail account, that require changing some Gmail settings and configuring Outlook to Gmail's IMAP servers.

You may follow these steps to set up your Gmail account on Outlook:

I am confused now - or perhaps not being clear. The outlook account is closed although the program and archived emails remain. I now use gmail exclusively. So wouldn't I configure gmail to connect to outlook (and find the scan in outlook to send from gmail). Note I am most likely exceeding my technical capabilities trying to follow steps in the link you sent. Again, thank you!
