Hi @surelymae,
thank you for using the HP Forums.
First of all, could you confirm whether your printer is behaving as described in this page:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04839288
If it is, please visit the link to product replacement (if you are in United States/Canada) or click the Contact Support tab.
Hope it helps!
Although I am an HP employee, I speak for myself and not for HP.

Hi Surelymae,
I am sitting in HP Expert Day and I am glad to help you out.
The steps to take out and replace Printhead:
1. Open the ink door.
2. Wait until the ink carriages stop moving.
3. Right side there is a carridge latch, you pull it up.
4. Take out the printhead.
5. Replace with a new one.

Hi underclassHero,
Perhaps you've mistaken Officejet 6830 with Officejet 8630?
The steps you have listed would apply to OJ 8630, but not OJ 6830.
The OJ 6830 does not have a carriage latch as mentioned, and will require a service center person to replace the printhead.
Hi Surelymae,
Do refer to the links in the previous post for steps on how to get a printhead replacement.
