When making a black and white copy, no matter which way I orient the page for feeding into the scanner, it truncates the page so that there's data missing on one edge of the copy. Is there a way to specify "fit to page" for copying, or to set more narrow margins?

Hello, @MacUser50– Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
Going through your post, I see that you are facing issues while copying using the Deskjet printer. This printer does not have options to change the copy settings. The printer is simply programmed to copy the document that you place on the scanner glass.
That said, let’s try performing a power drain on the printer as suggested below:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Now try making a copy again. If the copy is still not you wanted, scan the document to your PC, edit the setting and then print the document.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂

First of all, the HP Deskjet 3755 doesn't have a "scanner glass." The input document is fed through a slot. Secondly, the procedure you outlined is cumbersome and error-prone. I need a solution that is targeted to this specific printer.

Hello, @MacUser50
My bad, I do understand that the printer do not have a scanner glass and the copy / scan is done while feeding the paper through the feeder.
That said, like I mentioned in my above post, we do not have any options to change the copy settings on your printer. The printer will copy the material you feed through the feeder without any changes. But, you can try scanning the document to your PC, edit the setting and then print the document.
If the copy is not coming out as in the original, you can try performing a power drain as suggested in my above post.
Hope that helps! Let me know!
Cheers 🙂
