Hi,

Sorry for post this in this forum but I don't know where to go.

I have a USB printer HP Laserjet Professional M1132MFP and I would like connect it via wifi using a print server. I will use TP-Link TL-WPS510U for this.

I've managed to set it up for print but scanner don't works!

Anyone can say me that is it possible scan using print server for this model of printer? If I buy another print server will work? anyone can say me what print server needs this printer?

Sorry for my poor english, i'm spanish speaker.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. Finally I try it with another print server: TL-PS310U. Now I can print and scan. The only problem is that I need wait 2-3minutes to make it work. If you don't wait and connect before 2-3minutes I get error of conection in the print server console.

Hi chr75nos87946,

I understand the HP LaserJet Pro M1132 Multifunction Printer does not have the ability to be configured wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable so you are using a print server as a work around. This is okay; however, you will not be able to scan this way regardless of the printer server you have.

The same issue is experienced if you connect the USB cable to a wireless router, you could print but not scan.

The only suggestion I can make at this time is to either use the USB cable directly to the computer, or consider getting a wireless or Ethernet compatible printer.

I have the same situation HP M1132 is connected to print server TL-PS310U and in this way shared to the network. If I use TP Link program in Win7 to hold MFP remotly then I have ability to print and scan, but the problem is most of PCs in the network are Linux-based and I have no luck to make them at least printing.

Any ideas how to reach that?

In my opinion a right direction described here in Russian http://www.tplink.com/ua/article/?faqid=222 when printer is configured as LPR printer, but it still requires drivers to be installed locally

HP provides hplip with drivers for linux which has own UI which it does not find HP M1132 printer on the network because it's not supposed to be remote printer.
