I recently purchased an HP Officejet 6100 to use on my Dell computer using Windows XP. I purchased the printer as the HP salesman told me I would be able print onto 3 x 5 cards with it. This is all true except I wasn't told the printed area would be reduced by a huge .65" on the left side due to the printer driver. I was using an HP Deskjet 3650 and did not have this problem or else I was able to work around it. Now, I would like to reduce the left "margin" of the printable area down to a more reasonable .2". Any help?

Try going into the printer preferences advanced section.  There should be an option there to disable the border.  Let me know if that helps or not.

Can you disable border (full page print) for ancient laser printer P2015?

Thanks

If the option is in the print driver, yes.  If not, no.  The only real way to find out is to check the preferences on the print driver.

this is as helpfull as saying: find it yourself.

I have a same problem with the officejet 7510. the printable area set for this in "the driver" is 5mm on long side 20mmm on portrait.

now the driver is not the same as "setting preference".   and since mere mortals can only deal with setting preferences, changing the drivers setting is totally out of the question. so how do we change the driver settting( not the preferences, or the advanced preferences)
