Hi @Ena1,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you need to reset the scan size because you're unable to see the full document/image. I would be happy to look into this with you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

It sounds like you need to adjust the scan settings.

  1. Open HP Scan.
  2. On the left-hand side, click on the scan shortcut that you wish to change.
  3. On the right-hand side, select Scan Size you wish to select (A4). It might be set to Entire Scan Area.
  4. To reduce the scan size, change Resolution to 200 dpi or lower (being mindful that it reduces the image quality).

If you're still experiencing problems, review the screenshot below.

  1. Item Type: Photo, check to see if Auto Crop is selected. If so, deselect it.
  2. Try scanning again.

To change the advanced Photo/Document settings

  1. Click Advanced Picture Settings or Advanced Document Settings, and then select the setting you need.
  2. Click Save to file Save Options to change the following settings (depending on your printer).

If you're still experiencing problems, hit Restore Defaults and try scanning again.

NOTE:  After changing your settings, I suggest you select the Option: Make the selected shortcut the default for this button.
