Photosmart Printer 8450, using Windows 7, getting message "please insert card" when I try to print a document. I assume that is the camera photo card. But I am not doing that and never have. How do I turn it off and go to regular printing?
The printer was without cartridges for about 3 weeks, and when I loaded them, that is what came up.

Hi geeklet,
I think you are probably right that the message has to do with the photo memory slot. Is the message on the printer or computer?
You might try doing an Ink System Reset. To do this, remove the ink cartridges. Close the carriage access cover. Follow the Hard Reset instructions in the following link. Click Here Once the printer powers back up and indicates that one or more of the ink cartridges are missing, re-seat one of them and close the access door until the cartridge registers. Repeat the process until all cartridges are reseated. Did this help?
