I want to print my credit card statement which is on legal size paper, but I want to shrink it so it will fit on letter size paper.  I was able to do this with my HP PSC 1610 printer with no problem.  The print screen gave me the option to print the current view.  However I do not get this option with my new printer HP Photosmart 5510.  Does anyone know what I can do?  I keep cutting off the bottom of the first page and the tops of other pages because they don't fit on the letter size paper.

I guess it would be Safari, I have a MacBook and even if I saved it in a .pdf I didn't have the same print options.  I just got this new laptop and I also bought a new printer.  Right before I got your reply I printed a document and I noticed this tiny option on the print screen that said more options and there was the additional details I used to have on my old Mac and printer.  So I have solved the problem.  Thanks for trying to help me.

When trying to print a Chase credit card statement which requires legal sized paper only letter sized printing occurs, cutting off the bottom of the page.  I have tried indicating legal sized paper on the printer which has made no difference.

There is a different problem with Citi bank credit card statements.  The printed font size is tiny.

Ideas for either or both are welcome.

HI Zelma,

I would like to help you with printing your credit card statements. Can you first answer a few questions for me. What operating system do you have, if its a Mac, click on the Apple icon and select About this Mac, you will see the Mac OSx version listed here. If it is a windows based operating system, click on Which Windows operating system am I running? and follow the instructions.

Which program are you printing from, examples are: Safari, Google Crome, and Firefox. When you have the credit card statement open, look to the right of the Apple icon and note what program is there.

What printer do you have?  How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

With these details I will be able to better assist you.

I operate primarily off of my Mac but also use a laptop pc connected to the Mac via a router.  The pc is primarily for Quickbooks.

The Mac is OS X 10.8.5.  Windows is Windows 7 pro.  Both operate through Firefox to the printer HP Office Jet Pro L7680 All-In-One.

Hi Zelma,

Thanks for getting back to me. Can you try printing from either Safari or Google Crome on the Mac, or Internet Explorer or Google Crome on the Windows PC and tell me if you experience the same issue.

Can you also tell me when you print from Chase or Citi Bank are you selecting file print or is there a printer icon that redirects you to a printable statement?

You said you tried selecting legal on the printer and it did not work, can you describer where you made that selection? What is in fact on the printer or was it with in the print screen on the computer?

I look forward to hearing back to you.

Nothing seems to work on the Mac.  I tried Safari and Google Chrome.

On the PC Google Chrome worked for the problem with Chase of printing legal sized.  For the problem of printing in reduced font size, using google chrome I can print a readable first page but not the page with itemized account activiity.  I called their tech support and while the support person could not solve the problem directly he found a way to get the job done.  He suggested I copy the account activity and paste it into Word and print from there. That worked.  I presume it will work on the Mac in pages although I didn't try it.

While I prefer to do this on the Mac for general security I can tolerate and live with the above solutions unless you have other ideas up your sleeve.
