Hello spacebars,
I understand you are receiving a message indicating "No Scan Options". How is this printer connected? Wireless or USB?
What is your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?
Please follow this entire HP document on A 'No Scan Options' or 'Scan settings are not set' Message Displays on the Printer. This document provides troubleshooting steps other than uninstall/reinstalling the software.
Let me know if this document resolves your issue or not.

Please note that yo scan from the scanning software, you need to have the printer drivers installed. The printer drivers can be downloaded from this link www.123.hp.com
