@mayasydney

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP LaserJet Pro M1210 Multifunction Printer and gave a scan 22 error. After restarting the printer, the screen has gone blank. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

Before the scan 22 error started, do you remember any changes (hardware or software updates) that may have taken place for the printer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
  • Now you may check the printer display.

I the issue persists then please perform a reset on the printer. I have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Feel free to let me know how it goes. All the best! 🙂

I did it and still have a blank screen.
If l press print the screen will go on. It will stay for a while and go blank until l need to print and press the print button.
I don't know of any software updates.
All l know it all started when l needed to do a lot of copies.
How do l do updates if it needs it.
Thanks

You are welcome. I appreciate you taking your valuable time to troubleshoot. 🙂

If the issue still persists then it indicates towards a hardware failure with the printer. I recommend you to reach out to HP phone support to explore the hardware service options for your printer.

Please keep me posted for any further questions. Good luck!
