Hello Hope someone can help before I pull all my hair out!

I have installed 5 new hp inks in my printer but am getting an error message saying' !  Cartridge Problem Unil cartridges are installed, make sure the printer is trned on to avoid damage to the printer.'  This to me means that the printer doesn't recognise that the ink is already installed Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks Angela

Hi Angelface-28,

I understand you are getting error message 'Cartridge Problem Until cartridges are installed, make sure the printer is turned on to avoid damage to the printer."

Thank you for your reply.
I will be happy to help you with this.

I would do a power reset to see if that will resolve the issue. With the printer still turned on, disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer, if the printer has external power module with a detachable power cord disconnect it for 15 seconds and then reconnect it. Then disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet. Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable back to the wall outlet first, then the back of the printer and power it on again.

Make sure the printer is connected directly to wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)

I have provided a document for the 'Ink Cartridge Problem,' 'Incompatible Ink Cartridge,' or 'Ink Cartridge Failure' Message Displays o...

If you are still having issues then I would follow this document for 'Missing or Failed Printhead' or 'Printhead is Missing, Not Detected, or Not Properly Installed' Mes...

Hope this helps.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

I have the same issue and none of the steps outlined resolved the issue.

Any additional thoughts?

 Good afternoon,

We have a photosmart 7510 and have replaced all 5 cartridges and get the following error  'Cartridge Problem Unil cartridges are installed, make sure the printer is trned on to avoid damage to the printer.'

From another post the response was to basically reboot the printer, that did not work.  We removed the printer from the power source but still no luck.  There was also an attached document to clean the print heads.  We did that as well and no luck.  The printer error will not allow any other action to be taken.

Can someone assist?

Hi @tgates8591,

If you have completed all of the recommended troubleshooting in the documents posted by Gemini02 in Message 2, I suggest calling us. What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number

Case number and phone number appear.

Did you ever get this sorted?  Only I've got the same problem and have followed the advice given to you, to no avail...
