Help,
I have owned the above printer for approximately 3+ years. I am experincing an error message in the viewfinder and I can't find a fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The message reads:
Ink System Failure
Ink system has failed. Unable to copy, recieve faxes, or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error. Oxc18a0101

Easy correction and solution for error code that I experienced: Oxc18a0101
Resetting HP Photosmart C6180 & C7180 "system failure" errors:
(might work on other similar models as well)
1) press * and # at the same time
2) press 1, 2, 3 and “support R0632M” should display
3) press > and “information menu” should display
4) press > and “configuration menu” should display
5) press OK and “hardware failure status” should display
6) press OK “failure status: clear”. Press OK to clear
7) press CANCEL
😎 press CANCEL
9) press CANCEL
10) turn printer off, unplug power cord for 2 minutes, plug cord back in then turn printer back on.

Hello jodieks30, Welcome to the forums!
I saw your post about your Photosmart C7100 series showing an error code of Oxc18a0101. This usually means the printer has a carriage jam or an Ink System Failure.
I will gladly look for a troubleshooting document for you to try that might help. I would first need your printers model number.
Here is a link on how to find your model number: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud09626
Please respond with that information and I will help!
Take care,
I work on behalf of HP
