Recently my printer stopped printing anything with black ink even tho I had just put in an XL920 ink cartridge that came from Staples. After going thru cleaning and aligning the printheads I still had the same problem.
I then opened the printer and checked on the far right side when facing the printer (where the printheads stay when not in use) and found gobs of black ink of which I have tried to clean up.
Why do I have all of this ink spill in my printer? I have always purchased HP ink cartriges and not generics.
If the new cartridge is leaking would it show up on ink used on my display?
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

What printer is this for and what operating system are you running (to help narrow troubleshooting)? If the new cartridge is leaking heavily it will likely show up in your ink levels. The best bet is to clean the ink and watch carefully for new deposits to see if the new cartridge is in fact leaking.

Hi @Cezar678
If the service station is overflown, you should be able to mop it up with something like foam swabs. Is it affecting the print quality? Is the printer still within warranty?
Thanks

My HP office jet 6600 leaks the black ink cartridge , it seems to always affect the yellow, which turns green on the ink status report. This is the second printer, the first one leaked during installation, and was replaced by the store.
It's pretty much useless as a printer, and I want to return it. It's on warranty. I have tried 7 (!!) different black cartriges, but now I'm just tired of the whole thing.
The "help" sections ,forum, etc. are no help. this is a faulty item.
What can I do?

I ENDED UP GETTING PERMISSION TO SEND THE PRINTER BACK TO hp. HEYGAVEME MONEY BACK, WHICH i THOUGHT WAS FAIR,CONSIDERING THAT IT WAS THE SECOND ONE
I ended up getting permission from HP to send it back, and received a refund. None of the "solutions had Worked, and I wasted several cartridges .
So I guess the question is now closed, for me . Thank you all, for trying to help!
