PCWizard,
I've tried following the instructions exactly as you laid out for the software download and am still getting the same error.
I'm trying to install the full software suite for HP C410a on a PC running Windows7 64 bit. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi wilko-1,
It appears you may be fighting an issue with the operating system and the HP software conflicting. You may want to consider doing a Refresh on the operating system to see if you are then able to get the printer installed and working.
To do a Windows 8.1 Refresh:
- Hold your mouse in the bottom or top right of the screen (if you have a touch screen, you can slide you finger from the right of the screen to the left) to bring up the Charms bar.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on "Change computer or PC setting" at the bottom.
- Click on Update and recovery.
- Click on Recovery
- Click on "Get Started" on the option to "Refresh your PC without affecting your files"
- That should start a Wizard that will take you through the Refresh process.
- Install the printer to your computer

I have just reinstalled WIN7 then upgrade to WIN 8.0 to remove the problem. Now following an upgrade to Win 8.1 --- it is back. (this is when it broke before)
The upgrade from Win 8.0 to 8.1 has affected the following :
Printing - Still OK
HP Solution Centre - error "HP Solution Centre cannot run because your device installation is not complete........"
Scanning - No scanner present on the PC
My C5180 printer is connected via the network rather than by usb and all 3 functions worked before the upgrade.
Downloading the driver reinstall and then unpacking it is ok, but I end up with the "cannot find the file" message when trying to install the device.
Please investigate this for me HP.
