Hi. I have registered my new printer on line which is connected. Everything is going fine until I then tried to register the printer with instant ink. I tried to register my printer using the code and it says 'printer claimed by another account'. It also says this when I went straight to buy the ink......this is soon frustrating!! Please could someone help as I am nearly out of ink and also have 5 months free ink with the purchase which is being wasted cause I can't register with instant ink?? Thank you

Hello Sewz1,
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums!
I see that you're unable to sign up for Instant Ink. I will certainly do my best to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.
I understand the frustration that you're experiencing. The problem is that the printer is attached to another HP Connected account with a different email address.
First, have you customized the printer's ePrint email address? If you wish to keep the ePrint email address you will need to try logging into that HP Connected account using another email.
If you do not wish to keep the printer's ePrint email address or have not customized it yet. We can easily fix this by removing and enabling Web Services. This will release the printer from the old HP Connected account allowing you to add it to your new HP Connected account.
We need to remove the printer from the other HP Connected account. To do this please follow these steps:
1. Press the ePrint button (Web Services menu) on the bottom left-hand corner of the printer's front panel menu. Here, you can check to see what the ePrint email address is.
2. Go to 'Settings' or select 'Remove Web services'.
3. Once complete, enable 'Web services'.
4. The information page will print with the new claim code (everything prior to @hpeprint.com).
If you experience issues, see this guide:
Please try the steps within this guide: HP Connected - Getting the Printer Claim Code
Once you have claimed the printer on your HP Connected account you can start the enrollment process.
See the guide: HP Printers - Enrolling in HP Instant Ink
Note: My colleague sent you a private message requesting some information from you, however, I will be helping you from here. If I need you to provide any information I will send you a private message to respond to. 🙂
I hope this information is helpful. Please respond to this post with the results. Good Luck!
