What do update LCD list means

HP Recommended
I have searched the web for weeks seeking a solution, including this site, and HP help. I tried everything from DLL and patch fixes to reinstalling. Nothing worked, until I discarded my nearly new HP Photosmart printer/scan/copy/web and pulled out my old Epson. It works great, too bad I still own a $100+ paper weight.

Hi everyone

You only need to do the followings;

1. turn your printer off

2. turn your printer on

and that will sort out the problem

Regards

Mr. Al-amili

What a neat solution! So simple and effective. Thanks

This is NOT a solution! This is at best a poor work-around. HP has not addressed the problem that requires the printer to be restarted at least once every 24 hours in my case. It is so inconvenient! This is the scanning process: Go to the printer (upstairs), try to use it. Fails. Clear the fault on the PC (downstairs). Wait 5 minutes for the printer to discover the PCs on the LAN. Restart the whole process; go back down stairs to the PC to get the scan. A 10 minute process instead of 1 minute. Not acceptable!!!  HP has shown gross incompetence in not resolving this problem.

Sorry. What I should have said is: 'What a neat solution for me.' In two and a half years this is the first occurence of this incident.

It means that you should return the printer and get a refund.

I have a 4500 wireless HP printer. How do I upgrade the LCD?

This is ridciulous! These days with technology so mature we cant even got ot he store and buy a BRAND NEW model without issues up the ying yang! This deskjet 4500 sux!

Faxing? Forget it! It took me over 3 hours to finally get a fax through to my attorney who was waiting to hand it off to settle a case for me! 15 pages, Id get thrugh a couple then the printer would start eating the pages crooked and NOTHING would work. New copies, fresh paper, cleaning the dust, closing the lid. What a joke. Im so disappointed in this product and NOW>???

All I want to do is scan a photo of my granddaughter and this LCD needs to be updated error wont go away even with the supposed solution that is a total joke. Even powering on and off....nothing works. I wish I could get my money back!

TOTAL GARBAGE! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHES AND THROW THIS JUNK AWAY AND DONT EVEN THINK OF A KODAK EITHER!  THEY ALL SUK NOW!

The fix recommended by the technician does not work.  I've done that fix repeatedly in the past and now the scanning function has yet again stopped working and the fix still doesn't fix it.  HP should just put a permanent fix in or refund our money.  Over 19K inquiries and still no permament fix.

That did NOT solve the problem.
