The printer is stuck in initializing. I have unplugged and plugged back in but this has not worked. I am plugged into the wall outlet and not a surge protector so full power being received.  This is a brand new printer now stuck!

Hi @aduff ,

I see that you are having issues with the new printer being stuck initializing. I will certainly do my best to help you.

I have provided the setup instructions, to double check that all the packing material from the printer is removed. Remove the foam, sheet with orange plastic attached, the orange clip on the toner and the sealing tape.

Setting Up the Printer Hardware for HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn, M128fn, and M128fp Printers.

Disconnect the USB/Network/FAX and power the printer on Standalone.

Do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

If the issue persists, perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and in case of a power switch keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power chord.

Try and update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn.

I will send you another step to try in a private message.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.

Have a nice day!
Thank You.

Printer is always intializing, i can print but i always have to turn off the printer and restart it.  it'll print the page, then go back to constant initalizing.

If i turn the printer off and back on with-out the network cable pluged into the router, it would goto ready mode.

As soon as I plug back in the network cable and it retrieves the IP address it goes back into initalization loop.

Hi @drewnin,

Thanks for providing that detailed information, for when the printer goes into initializing. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue today.

Are you using a fixed IP address? If you are, that might be causing some issues with this model.

I would suggest to turn off the IPv6 setting on the printer to see if that helps and setup a Static IP.

Go to Setup on the printer.

Network Setup.

Network Services.

IPv6 - turn it off.

Go to the section for Assign the printer an automatic static IP address. Disregard the title.

Hi. I have the similar problem - when I turn on printer - it stuck on initialising. I tried to load without network cable and do a hard power reset - nothing helps.
