HP P1102W
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have HP LaserJet Professional P 1102W.

Once I did FIRMWARE upgrade  to latest ONE  20150114 , I'm not able anymore to print any PDF/word Documents..

Only simple Text files or TEST PAGE could be printed.

I did alot of known games of restart/reset...

finally, I found that Upgrading the Printer FIRMWARE to 20150114 lead to a Memory FULL situation.

TOTAL memory is 8 MB, while available is only 1 MB..

Previously, it was 2-3 MB Free..

I used the this HP P1102W since more than 2 years.. over 4000 pages printed !

fortunatly, I have an OLD EXE for FIRMWARE Upgrade, but it's checking internet connection every time it run to compare what it has.. with what's in HP SUPPORT.

MY QUESTION:

Is there a way to downgrade this FIRMWARE back to the one I have ?

Or, is there a way to reset the Printer Firmware to First one ?

Thanks.

I understand that you are having some issues with printing to your Laserjet p1102w after upgrading the firmware. For that issue I suggest contacting HP support by clicking on this link to discuss your options based on your warranty. The should be able to assist you with finding some resolution.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a great day!

Hi DocCottle,

Thanks for your reply,

First, I did the proper contact, and got CASE #, and No body called me.. I called them Yesterday, and they said a technical guy would contact you.. but nothing..

Second, my Waranty is already ended 1 year ago..

But the point is that .. I don't see it's a problem of waranty coverage..

simply HP has announced broken Firmware ( in my opinion) , and they should take repsonsibility for that..

since Firmware upgrade, the printer available memory is 1 MB or less..

Today, I disabled WIRELESS connections, and connecting over USB Cable only.

Now, I can print some documents.. but not more than 10 pages for example.....

I'm not alone facing this issue.. people think that this kind of printer should be installed with 16 MB RAM instead of 8MB since it's supporting SMART install or such advanced features that consume all the memory.. and keep resident in the RAM.

Thanks once again, and I hope there is a way to reset my PRINTER or downgrade the firmware..
