HP Laserjet 1022
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

Hello everyone,

I have a HP Laserjet 1022 that I have been using on my windows computer and I have always been able to print double sided (manually). When I got my Mac and installed the same printer (via USB port) the option to print doubled sided has never been availlable or an option or to change the layout direction. Is there a way to fix this this issue?

Also, I would like to know if the only way to print double sided is manually. What I mean by manually is that the printer first prints either all the odd or even numbers. Then I have to remove the stack of papers and place them back into the machine, press the green button on top and print the opposite numbers. Is there an option where the printer prints all one side, grabs the papers by itself and prints the other side?

I look forward to hearing from all of you!

Yes - but 'automatic' duplex is available only with devices which include a hardware duplex unit.

As far as I can tell, none of the LaserJet 1022 models include a duplex unit, nor can one be fitted retrospectively.

Support of 'manual' duplexing depends on the printer driver; your only option, if your current driver does not support it, is to find another driver - not very likely with a printer of this age.
