HP Laserjet 1320
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to print duplex pages (double sided) from my Adobe InDesign program to my HP 1320 Laserjet printer. The printer has duplex capabilities and I've been able to do so in the past by going to 'Printer Setup' from the print dialogue in the program and changing the printer output to 'Print both sides.'

After installing Windows 10 and new 64 bit HP drivers (including the UPD), I discover that the duplex option ('Print Both Sides') ONLY offers me 'NO' on the dropdown menu. I cannot select 'YES' to 'Print both sides' in the dropdown menu in the 'Printing Shortcuts' dialogue box and there are no other such options under anyother tap.

What is strange to me is that I CAN print in duplex mode on this printer now from MS Word by chosing 'Print on Both Sides' from the native print dialogue box in Word. The page prints on both sides perfectly.

Why an I able toI print duplex in Word print dialogue (native in the program) and not using the 'Printing Preferences' dialogue box (the one with the HP logo in the lower right corner)?

Check the Device Settings tab for your printer properties window.  Scroll down and view the Duplexing Unit setting under Installable Options.  Make sure this setting is set to Installed.  The UPD is a dynamic print driver and turns features on and off from the printer dialog boxes as it detects various settings.  The one setting may be on by default but the other may need extra configuration.
