Hello everyone,
I have recently moved my house and got a new router. My HP LaserJet 4050N was previously connected to my other router and worked fine over the network. However, in my new house and my wireless router (connected ethernet port to printer) I can't seem to find the printer over the network. I have tried changing the IP but still when I try to ping, I get the time-out error.
Please help.

Hi InterQuest,
I would suggest uninstalling the printer, and then reinstall it with the new IP address assigned to the printer. Let me know what you find out?

Hi Isotron,
First thing i need to know is if you see and amber and green light on the printer where you have the Ethernet cable plugged in. If you do not have these lights then the printer is not communicating with your router. I would change cable, and then see if you get the lights.

Hi interQuest,
Most routers will assign a DHCP address when you have it connected to the printer with an Ethernet cable.
What is the IP address assigned to the printer?
Can you access the EWS - Embedded Web Server by typing the printers IP address into the address bar of Safari?

Not sure what you were asking me to look for after entering the printer IP in Safari.
The old router was a Cayman DSL 3220H and the new one is an ATT. All the Gateway, subnet mask, DNS numbers changed. The old address for the printer was 192.168.1.10.

Hi interQuest,
When you enter the printers IP address into Safari it should open a windows with printer information.
Do you have the printer connected with an Ethernet cable to the router? If so, what is the IP address assigned to the printer with this new router?
Below are some documents which will assist you with troubleshooting network and configuration issues. Let me know what you find out?

Hi InterQuest,
The IP address should be listed on the configuration page. The steps are below to print this page.
To print a configuration page:
1 Press [Menu] until INFORMATION MENU appears.
2 Press [Item] until PRINT CONFIGURATION appears.
3 Press [Select] to print the configuration page.
