Hi Dave,

As per the customer, no major jams occured when the problem started. Printer was not moved. No parts had been replaced before the issue began.

Unit has 28 156 pages.

Rollers are still in good condition. I had swapped them with another unit they own and the roller was working in the other machine.

Tray 1 has been used since this problem started without any jams.

A motor stall/humming noise can be heard from tray 2 when jam occurs.

thanks for the follow up.

The solutions pointed out for the paper guides are correct, for us.

We just had the problem in the last couple of days. In our case one of the paper guides was not set close enough to the paper in tray 2 (what would be the top/bottom side of 8-1/2 inches). To be sure, the guide should "click" into place up against the paper (without pushing it into an angle, which would be too tight).

In tray 3 there are two guides that need to be snapped up against the paper; visually they may look ok, but there should be no extra space. If you can push it closer to the paper and hear it "click", then it was too loose.

Since adjusting these the printer is working without the error message.

Still nothing?

Our customer gave up and got rid of the machine so I have it sitting here in our graveyard. Seems wasteful...
