I have a LaserJet Pro CM1415 that a few days ago started to print out full pages of horizontal black lines. It will print some pages fine then, seemingly randomly, it will print a page of black lines. For example I can print the demo page and it comes out perfect, the next time I print it the lines might happen or might not, there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to it. I've attached an example of what it's doing. Any idea's what could cause this?

Did you have any luck resolving this issue? I am having the same problem with my CM1415. It is usually the first one or two pages of each document that print this way.

Has there been any result found on this issue? I have a client experiencing the same problem. Big Think (maybe half inch) horizontal lines printing on faxes being received. Seemingly spaced randomly from the top to the bottom repeatidly across the entire page. It seems to be intermittent and only occuring with faxes.

I am having the exact same problem. It seems its always after the printer has been idle. It does the horizontal black lines for regular copies, faxes, printed PDF's, everything.

I have a CM1415 laser jet pro. I just replace the black ink and the problem remains. This is very frustrating.

Hello

I understand yous are getting black lines on the copies, faxes, printed PDF'S.

Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet.

Is the toner Genuine HP?

Check the current firmware on the printer.

I would recommend to update the printers firmware by usb connection.

The newest firmware is Version20120629.

Thanks for the post- I just download, successfully it seems, the new firmware.

It printed the config page and the new firmware is in fact listed.

The printer only prints the black the horizontal lines (same as the other users pictures on this topic forum) when it sits idle for a while I ve noticed. I will post on here again if the symptoms continue. So if the printer is cold it goes crazy and prints the lines- if I print one thing after another- its fine.

Best

Hi Fabemez

I will send you a private message with  information on how to reset the printer if the firmware update didn't resolve the issue.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

Let me know how you made out.

Hi,

I have the same problem with CM1415...black horizontal lines on the first pint job when the printer is sleeping..

I have tried almost everything - unplugging the unit for a few minutes, printing the cleaning page, upgrading the firmware on the unit, upgrading the software drivers....same issue....

PLEASE !!! Could you help me? Thanks

I am also having the same issue. It happens for the first 5 print outs of the day. We have the most recent drivers and firmware installed but it still happens. Please let me know what else can be done to resolve this.

Thanks
