Hi there,

I've recieved the printer some days ago. Installation and setup was extremely easy (all done through the menu on the printer itself).

By today, the printer's LCD screen is only white (no menu at all visible) and the printer does not change its status when turned on/off or is in any other way responsive. Neither can the printer be found in the network (neither via WiFi nor Ethernet cable).

Can someone pls let me know, if there is any workaround on this? How is a cold reset performed?

Please share your thoughts.

Regards,

H

Hi @ HaraldG1,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that the display screen on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw Printer is white and not responsive. I would be happy to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

I understand the frustration that you're experiencing. It sounds like there could be a power problem, firmware issue or hardware issue with the display.

To eliminate other causes, unplug the following connections so the printer is operating stand-alone.
Please unplug the USB, Fax and ethernet cables, to see if the display goes back to normal (until the resets are completed).

I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Wall outlet
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (don't use a power bar or a surge protector). This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Try a different power outlet/room.

Try updating the printer's firmware: HP LaserJet Pro Series Firmware Update Utility.

If that doesn't resolve the issue you could try the NVRAM Reset. I can send you that information in a private message.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

If you completed all the preceding steps and your product still has an issue, service the product. If the printer is within the buyer's remorse period return the printer to the point of purchase or contact HP.

Contacting HP for service in all countries/regions except Asia Pacific.
First, go to Check your product warranty to check your printer warranty status, and then go to Contact HP Support to find an authorized service dealer or to schedule a repair.
Repair fees might apply for out-of-warranty printers.
What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your
contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone
number
Case number and phone number appear.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck! 🙂

Hi @HaraldG1,

Thanks for the response.

From what you're describing, it sounds there is a hardware issue. Please contact HP or return the printer to the store.

I hope you have a very nice day.
