Okay, here's something else: I just printed, from the touch pad on front of the printer, a Printer Status Report.
And under Connectivity Settings, it says Network Status: Offline.
Is that my problem, why does it say that, and how do I change that?

No. You do not have a network connection therefore it is offline.
The question is why it is showing offline with a USB connection.
What operating system is this?
If Windows, go to Control Panel > Printers. Delete the printer (if multiple instances, delete all).
Now, in the same window do a "Add a printer" and add a local printer.

It's XP. And not sure how that would it explain it working 3 days ago and not now, simply because I moved it from one location to another?
I also just did what you stated. Still won't print. It was going to do a test print when I finished, and that test print just stayed in queue just like the other ones did.
I swear, I will never buy an HP printer again. This is maddening,

Have you tried replacing the USB cable or plug it into a different port on your computer? Is it plugged into the correct port on the printer? Are you using a USB hub? Don't.

PrintDoc, I brought two USB cords with one. One is the cord that I was using on my new computer for the past two months. I also brought the one I was using on my other HP printer because it's longer.
Not only have neither made any difference, neither has plugging them into either of the two USB openings in back, or the one available on the side.
Is this frustrating or what? I have a business that requires daily printing. Awful.,
A friend thinks I need to uninstall the driver all over again. But this time, he says to disconnect the printer when I reinstall it. Is that a potential solution?

OK, let's try that. Let's use a special uninstaller that is on your printer software CD. It is located in the util/ccc folder and it is the L3 uninstaller. You may have to search for it.
Run it, then reboot your computer.
Next, install the software from here, not your CD. Make sure to start the installation with the USB cable DISCONNECTED. The software will tell you when to plug it in.

FINALLY. I am happy to report that my problem is now solved.
Here's what I think was going on: when I bought this printer and used it, everything was fine....except that about once a week, I would get a box that said my printer's driver was preventing my computer from hibernating (it used a different word, but the meaning is the same). I didn't pursue it.
So perhaps....by unplugging my printer and moving it all somewhere else, the driver problem finally reared it's ugly head.
AND, the problem I had when I twice DID uninstall it, and reinstalled it, is not disconnecting the USB cord. Because this time, when I did keep it disconnected, and only reconnected it when the installation process told me to....the printer then started to work.
Thank you PrintDoc!! Go eat a big bar of chocolate, or a good steak. You deserve it!!

I forgot to mention: I had to keep trying to download from the hp site...over and over and over...at least 20 times, before I could finally get past the PASV port theft message and the download box appeared. Apparently it's a random problem, so if you keep trying, something eventually kicks in.

I just moved from one state to another and set up my printer and computer. The printer wouldn't work. I didn't realize that using my sister's network would affect the relationship which I thought was based on the printer's email address. But I followed your advice for the wireless wizard and moments later I was printing again. Thank you!
