The printer message is cannot print visit www.hpinstantink.com. That site only wants me to sign up for instant ink and we have been using regular HP cartridges. The fax machine is still sending out faxes but nothing will print on our machine. This is the first time we have had this problem.

Hello @MariPat,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you're unable to print. I would be happy to look into this with you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

I understand that you're not interested in signing up for Instant Ink and the printer is advising you to visits 'hpinstantink.com'. You do not have to sign up for Instant ink if the ink cartridges say "trail-subscription" on them. You have a choice during setup to sign up or not.

NOTE: These are "Instant Ink Ready" cartridges, these cartridges work as standard trade supplies but get flipped to Instant Ink cartridges if you choose to sign up for Instant Ink.

How many pages have you printed?

Where did you purchase the printer from?

Did you get a prepaid card?

If you do not wish to sign up please try a hard reset.

1. Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.

2. Then reconnect the power cable to the printer.

3. When the printer boots back up you should be able to opt-out of Instant Ink by declining,

If the issue persists, please send me a private message with your email address and full 14 digits serial number from the printer.

I look forward to hearing back from you.
