Hi,

My printer is approximately 12 years old and as of late it has been stuck on copy. This is a inkjet printer that can scan, copy and print. In the past I have had no problems with this printer. Recently however, I have been photocopying a lot of things. I tried to print off something tonight and discovered that the printer is stuck on copy. I have tried unplugging it as well as turning the power off. Neither seems to work. I have also tried using the setup menu and asking the printer to do a self test. This also doesn't work. Last night it took several minutes to photocopy anything, but it did eventually photocopy what it was asked to photocopy. Now it won't do anything.

any help anyone can offer me would be greatly appreciated as I don't really want to buy a new printer if I don't have to. If this can be fixed and my printer can last a few more years that would be great.

Again, any help anyone can offer woould be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chelsea1994,

Thank you for your response! I would try unplugging the printer from the surge protector, and plug it directly into the wall outlet. I am not too familiar with Ubuntu, if you need help with the driver, I would recommend Ubuntu Support. You can also try a hard reset. With the printer turned on unplug the power cable from wall outlet, and printer for 30 seconds and plug it back in. It will turn back on automatically.

Hi Chelsea1994,

Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that your print is stuck on copy, and you are wondering how to fix it. I am happy to help you with this issue! I have some questions for you:

  1. What type of printer do you have? To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
  2. What Operating System are you using? Windows or Mac? What version?
  3. How is the printer connected? Wireless, Ethernet or USB?
  4. Is the power cable plugged directly to the wall outlet, or a surge protector?

Hope to hear from you, and thank you for posting! Smiley Happy

The model number is: hp psc 2110 all-in-one

We used to run Windows, but my brother is a computer programmer and has switched all of our computers to Ubuntu. Not sure what version though.

The printer is connected with a USB.

The power cable is connected to a surge protector that is plugged into the wall.

We managed to get it to print for a little while last night, but it then reverted back to being stuck on copy and refusing to do anything. This printer is at least twelve years old.
