HI GuyDC,
You aren't doing anything incorrect. The SW simply doesn't support this manual duplex feature. In order to accomplish this, you would need to scan each page front and back manually, one at a time. Clearly not the best solution. Another option would be to download and install the desktop software for your 7510 which does support this feature.

HI GuyDC,
Your original email stated a Photosmart 7520. I didn't find a 7820, so I assume that is a typo. You can get SW for the 7520 here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Photosmart-7520-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/51994...

Great! It works!
I was about to post a question on why a scan to pdf allows me to scan several pages into 1 single pdf-file if I do it via my Photosmart 6520 touchscreen and NOT if I do it via the "HP 6520 Photosmart" software interface (I'm running Windows 8.1) even if I've unselected the "separate file for each scanned page"-option (it never asks me for another scan, but only whether I want to "return", "save" or "complete").
If I use the touchscreen, it always asks me whether I want to do another scan or whether I'm finished, after which it combines all the scanned pages in a single pdf-file.
I still don't know why it does this, but now, at least, I've got another easy way to combine several scans in 1 single file.

Yet ANOTHER disappointing, dodgy peice of CRAPWARE from HP. I have been having scanning issues for days now, which is documented on this forum thread:
I've had the printer for over a year and all the sudden (3 days ago) the scanning program now cannot communicate with my printer. No updates or new software was installed to my computer around this time, that I am aware of, so I am at a total loss as to WHY this is now happening?
Before you ask, yes I have done virus and Malware scans, updated drivers, checked for Windows 8.1 updates and ran all noted troubleshooting steps outlined in other posts from people with the same problem.
Can I expect this from all HP products? If so, I'm NEVER buying from you again!

Hi -- I,m using the HP Solution Center software to scan documents. Unfortunately, I find I must set the output folder and any other options every time I scan a new document. I find this annoying and unproductive.
Is there any way to make these settings a 'default' and/or does this new HP Scan and Capture a better alternative?
Thanks, in advance!

Hi metaphysical526,
HP Scan and Capture has settings that will allow you to set a default folder and base filename to use for scans.
