Office Jet 6968
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had my Office Jet only since February, and do not use it every day.  However, it has developed streaks on one side of every page that I try to scan via the document feeder (it is fine when I use the flatbed).  I cannot figure out how to get into the scanner to clean the scanner roll, which is what I presume I have to do.  Nor can I find a manual online to show me how.  I am concerned that if I try to hard I could break something trying to get into it.

I would like, therefore, to remove the cause of the streaks, and if they recur, to know what to do.  Thanks in advance.

Our Laser Jet Pro MFP M477fdw has begun to put vertical lines when copying and scanning.  I have cleaned the glass strip as instructed in the manual once before and it did clear the lines up.  However, the lines are now showing again and after cleaning the glass trip again, they are still present and now there are 2 vertical lines.  The flatbed is clean.  This printer is <6 months old

Thank you.  Yours and another one I cannot point to at the moment, showed me that there is a narrow glass scanner where the rollers handle the image.  I had been paying attention to the flatbed, which was clean, and  had not noticed that, since this was new to me.  I was trying to get into the insides of ther rollers.  Turns out all I had to do was to clean that glass.  It had something on it, and once I got it off it works just fine now.  Thanks again.
