My printer no longer prints on a network connection, only a USB connection. For example, when I attempt to printer in MS Word, the printer menu show "Unable able to connect", although I am perfectly connected to my printer. I've only had this printer for about two months, and it's been this way for at least a month. I have run the "HP Print and Scan Doctor", and it tells me that there is a driver conflict, but every time I reinstall the driver and all the software, it repeats the same error message. I've also run the "Troubleshoot HP Installation Failure - Network" program, but to no avail. My PC is connected to my router via a ethernet cable, and my printer is connected to my router via a wireless connection, note that I have never had this problem until recently. All the reports I have printed state that there is no problem with the connection or the printer, the signal is excellent. I've restarted my router, I've reinstalled everything, I've restored factory defaults on my printer.

Hello Adam_C,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand your concerns with your Officejet 4630. I noticed you have performed some necessary troubleshooting steps, and you tried hooking up a USB cord to test out the connection.
What is your operating system on your computer? Click here to find out: Windows.
Please follow these steps:
First, follow this entire HP document on 'Unable to find printer' Error Message Displays on the Computer During a Wireless Network Installati...This does include uninstalling/reinstalling the software.
If you get the same error after following every step from this document, then please let me know.
Also, I would like you to add a port on your computer for a wireless network:
1) Go into Devices and Printers on your computer
2) Right click on your printer
3) Select printer properties
4) Select ports tab at the very top
5) Click on add a port, select Standard TCP/IP port, then select new port
6) Type in your IP address from your printer, click next, then finish
7) Click apply, then OK
😎 Try to print a document
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I have this problem also. I have already uninstalled then reinstalled the latest software. I've cycled the printer and router that its hooked up to many times. I have ran the doctor program many times with it telling me at the end that there is a software problem that it cannot fix. I have also taken the printer back and exchanged it for a different one. This made no difference. Now here's the real kicker. It will work on my husbands computer.
He is running on Windows Vista.
I have Windows 7 64bit. I have tried with my firewall off and on. I have manually put in the standard TCP/IP port using the printer's IP. That also did not work. I am able to pull up the printers network screen when I type the IP address into my internet browser.
Also, the scanning works fine. Just the printing pops up then disappears with no printed page. Please help! Thanks!

Hello Jsrcksaaf,
Thank you for providing this information. I understand you're unable to print from this one Windows 7 computer. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling this HP software on this one computer? You can also try restarting the Print Spooler, please follow this YouTube video on performing this step here.
I would recommend making a hidden Administrator account to see if you're able to print:
1) Click on the Start Menu, then in search programs and files type in CMD
2) You want to right click on this and select "Run as Administrator". If it asks you for administrative permission, please allow permission.
3) In the Command Prompt Window, type the following and hit Enter: net user administrator /active:yes
4) You should see a message saying "the command completed successfully".
6) Restart the computer or you can select log off, and utilize the new account that is available, which should be named "Administrator".
In this new account, try to print a document and let me know if this successfully prints out. Have a great night.
