I have an Officejet 6600. I used to be able to scan multiple pages into one document - but now it does not work. Even if I have "Combine into single document checked" it scans into separate documents. If I have multiple pages going through the ADF it works but if I have single pages - for example, I have a two-sided document so I have to scan each page separately - then it puts them into two documents. This was never a problem before - only recently.
Any solutions?
I use a Mac OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.1
I tried reinstalling the driver; that did not work.

Hey @chrisntim,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're experiencing issues when trying to scan multiple pages into one single file from the flatbed on your HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One Printer to your Mac OS X 10.10 Operating System. I would like to work with you today with resolving this issue.
Note: Always ensure that PDF is selected as the file type when tyring to scan multiple pages into one single file. If you accidentally have changed the file type to JPEG, multiple pages cannot be saved into one single file.
I'm going to include a document for how to scan through HP Scan software and HP Utility software. I would like you to check both and see if both versions are giving you the multiple page scan issue.
Scanning with the Full Feature HP Software in OS X v10.10 Yosemite
Should you be having the issue from both versions of the Scan software and you have ensured that your file type is set to PDF, than additional troubleshooting would be needed.
Step 1: Uninstall Drivers and Software:
- From the computer desktop, double-click the Macintosh HD, and then click Applications.
- Click the Hewlett-Packard folder.
- Double-click the HP Uninstaller, and then click Continue.
- Select the product to uninstall, and then click Uninstall.
- When prompted, type the Administrator name and Password, and then click OK.
- From the Macintosh HD menu, click Users.
- Click the correct user name.
- Click Library.
- Click Preferences.
- Click and hold the cursor on the first file that starts with "HP," and then drag the file to the Trash icon on the taskbar. Complete this step for each file that starts with "HP."
- Close out of Preferences.
- Click the Trash icon on the taskbar, click the Empty button, and then click OK to empty the trash.

Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
- Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
- Go to the Utilities Folder
- Open the Disk Utility
- Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
- Select Verify Disk Permissions
- Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
- Go to Apple
- Select System Preferences
- Select Software Update
- Click Update Now
- Install your available updates
- Restart your computer
Step 4: Reinstall your Software and Drivers:
- Please click the following link to download the appropriate drivers for your printer: HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One Printer series - H711 Full Feature Software and Driver
- Once downloaded run through the step-by-step on screen instructions to reinstall your printer.
Once reinstalled, please try to scan multiple pages from the flatbed in one single file again.
Please respond to this post and let me know if the steps I've provided resolve your issue. Best of luck!

Hi,
I had already uninstalled and installed the drivers. PDF is enabled as is the option to combine pages into one document.
The issue isn't with scanning from the flatbed it is from scanning from the ADF. Sometimes I have a double sided document to scan such that I have to scan them separately. Using the ADF is much easier than the flatbed so I'd prefer to be able to use the ADF.
I used to be able to do this but now it is not working. I know how to scan in documents as I've had this printer/scanner for a couple of years now. It's just a new problem I am having.
Thanks.

Hey @chrisntim,
Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue.
I would first like to apologize that I misunderstood your original post.
I also understand that you have already uninstalled and reinstalled your software. However, these troubleshooting steps have to be done in a specific order. Therefore, because you 'used to be able to scan multiple pages into one document - but now it does not work' I will request again that you follow the steps I have provided you to resolve this issue. Because your software was working fine and now it isn't than something may have changed on the Mac computer. This is why it is so important to 'clean up' your system of the HP Software and Drivers, run the verify and repair of the permissions, run the apple updates and then reinstall your software. Ideally this will correct whatever may have changed and you will again be able to scan multiple pages through the ADF as one single file by 'combing into a single document'.
Please let me know if the steps I've provided resolve your issue. Good luck! 🙂
