Well, I've just joined you guys. I started experiencing the "will not print black ink" problem a few days ago. Tried different cartridges, cleaning, uninstalling/re-installing printer. Still got the problem. Even tried the recommended HP driver update (I'm not sure it took, 'cos when I "detect" my device it still comes up with the message that the new driver is recommended). Has HP come up with a solution, or is this their misguided way of trying to make us buy a new printer?

My printer was printing fine in both black/white and color. I replaced both cartridges. Now all it will print is black and white. In my case that is not correct. sorry. I can print fine in black and fine.
Thanks,
Diana

Not true. My printer was printing in both color and black and white. I replaced the cartridges. Now all it will print in is black and white. No color! Why would U buy a printer that would not print in black. Get real folks!
Thanks,
Diana
