I'm so glad calling tech support resolved the problem for you with another printer.

I have a lot of experience with the 6700. It's a very good printer and I think you will like it a lot. Feel free to mark this as solution accepted

I work for HP.

I have purchased a new printer because the printhead was not working.  Even though Tech Support

helped me try to clean the printhead, the black ink still did not work.  The best result seemed to be to

purchase a new printer as a replacement.

I guess the solution to my problem with no printing from the black cartridge was to buy a new

printer.

OMG thank you so much. This worked and I am so glad I don't have to buy another printhead! Thanks again!:smileyhappy:

that is stupid, if you have to buy a new printer how is that solved?

This worked for me. I also found a lot of black ink gunk on the head which I carefully cleaned with Q tips and hot water (squeezed tightly). I don't know if that is advisable, but it worked for me. Thank God no factory reset for now!
