My Officejet 8025 always goes offline when I'm not using it. I constantly have to go reconnect it to my wifi system to get it to work, and even then scanning doesn't seem to work. I've used the print scan doctor on several occasions to no avail. This is a brand new system with the up-to-date software and I've had more trouble with it than I ever did any other HP product. It's been very disappointing so far. How do I fix this issue?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the printer goes offline. I'd be happy to assist you.
Install the printer using TCP/IP port
- On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
- Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
- Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless icon on the printer screen
- Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
- Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
You may use HP Smart app to scan from your PC
Click here to download and know more about the app.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Kumar0307,
I tried your suggestion and it didn't work either. It gave me this message. I should just have to download and install the software, and then link the two via wifi, but that doesn't seem to be the case because the printer always goes offline after it hasn't been used for a while. Then I have to have it find wifi again and relink it again. This is ridiculous! What other suggestions do you or anyone else have? Thanks!

It seems like the printer was already offline while you tried the steps mentioned. It will not work if the printer is offline.
First, connect the printer and the PC to the same wireless network. - 2.4GHz network.
Once done, perform the steps provided to make the connectivity stable.
We may assign a static IP address to the printer if this does not help.
Let me know how this goes.

Now it's working. When I first went to print a page, a message showed up on my computer saying the printer was offline, then a minute later it started printing the page I wanted. Maybe it's fixed? I hope! We will see.

If the printer is connected and printing fine, go ahead and assign a static IP address to the printer that will resolve offline issues. You can assign a static IP to the printer only when it is already connected to the wireless router.
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
- Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.
- Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
