I have an Officejet 8160 and I want to know how I can change the default settings for the scanner.  P.e, I want to change the default disk directory/folder the scanner use to save the scanned image files (the default directory/folder is "My Documents").  I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (until Windows 9 is on the road).

Thank you in advance...

I would like to help you change your scan destination @Ralves58

When you open the scan software, you scan select Advanced Settings, then click on the Destination tab, and click Browse. The Browse for Folder window opens and you can then choose your desired destination.

I hope this helps. 🙂

I don't see an Advanced Settings when I scan.

I want to change the default directory permanently.

Hi @mitmike

Do you also have the 8610, or a different model?   How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

Can you send a screenshot of your scan software?  How to take and post a screenshot on HP Support Forum.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

I also have an HP8610 and I have no idea what scan software you're talking about.

I did a search on my computer for HP Scan and nothing comes up, but anyway I usually do my scanning straight from the computer.

I put the doc in the appropriate place, and hit scan to computer, and it is defaulting into my OneDriver folders.

How can I change this?  Is there another place I can find the settings?

Hi @teekay228

What operating system, and version do you have? Mac or Windows?

I wonder if the following might be helpful while I wait to hear back from you; Scan

Can you please post a screenshot of the scan options you have so I can see what program you are using and help guide you to the appropriate settings?
