I have an HP Officejet Pro 8625 and I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  I have only had this printer for a little over a month.  Everything has been running fine and working great.  I recently tried to send a fax using the HP software like I have numerous times and the fax got stuck on spooling.  I have ran HP Print and Scan Doctor and it tells me that I do not have all the software installed so I follow its directions to install the software, restart the computer.  Same issues, I went to the HP website and used the troubleshooting guide and it passes all the tests as long as I go them directly from the printer.  I have no problem receiving faxes and them coming to my computer but it will not allow me to send as it gets caught up on spooling.  Any suggestions?

Thank you for letting me know. Let's try some more steps:

I would recommend uninstalling the software on your computer by following this HP document here. Once this is complete, clean out your Temp folder on your computer by follow this document here.

Now, perform a clean boot on your computer by following this Microsoft document here. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program. Next, you can install the full feature software from the HP Website here.

Please re-run the fax setup wizard from the HP software (Printer Assistant). Let me know how your progress goes! Smiley Happy

Hello @jessicajones54,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you're unable to send a fax from the HP software, but it keeps getting stuck on spooling. I will do my best to assist you! How is this printer connected? Wireless or USB?

I would recommend restarting the Print Spooler on your computer since it's stuck on spooling: Source: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02239404

  1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon (), type admin in the Search programs and files box, and then click Administrative Tools.
  2. Double-click Services.
  3. Right-click Print Spooler.
  4. Click Stop to stop the Print Spooler.
  5. Click Start to restart the Print Spooler.
  6. Also, stop and start the Windows image acquisition
  7. Restart your computer

Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night! Smiley Happy
