It really is astonishng that on this thread alone, there have been complaints about this since early 2015. (I've seen the same complaint in previous years.) Here we are nearly at the end of 2016, and HP does not seem to be able to figure out how to enable us to print Word documents that have pictures in them.

Hello, folks, there are driverless cars out there. Robot-operated factories. And we still can't do a simple print with pictures on an HP printer?

I've uninstalled my printer driver and reinstalled. I've gone duplex. I even managed to get it to say Preserve Layout Yes. It hasn't made a difference.

Thank you Riddle_Decipher. As far as I can see, the solution you offer is to uninstall the driver and to reinstall it. I'd done that, and my Officejet Pro 8610 still cuts off the pictures on my Word documents.

@Unhappy59

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your patience and your efforts,

Actually, the link I had shared earlier suggests that you use the Deskjet 6980 driver for your Officejet pro 8630 printers as that seems to have worked for others,

Let me know if you've attempted that step for further assistance.

Awaiting your reply,

Regards,

Ah, OK, Riddle_Decipher. I think I may be "horning in" on another thread, as mine is actually 8610, not 8630. I wasn't getting anywhere on the other threads and figured they must be pretty similar. Will a Deskjet 6980 driver work for the 8610 too?

@Unhappy59

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate your time and efforts,

I looked around and found this related HP Forums post: Click here

It seems to have helped other with the same query as that of yours.

And it also answers your questions that the Deskjet 6980 is compatible with your Officejet Pro 8610 as well.

Let me know how that pans out,

I hope you have a good day ahead,

Thank you Riddle_Decipher, using the 6980 driver now enables me to print with correct photos. That's a major victory for Christmas letters.

It is less important, but the new driver doesn't allow for automatic two-sided printing; have to do it manually.

Is it anticipated that HP might actually update the 8610 driver to allow us to print properly while also taking advantage of full functionality like double-sided printing?

One more question, when I clicked to make the new driver my default printer, I got a warning that said Windows will no longer manager my printer. Is that normal, or should it be of concern?

@Unhappy59

Thank you for replying,

That message about windows no longer being the manager is Normal as you've got an alternate application, so nothing to worry about.

As for the double sided printing: Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here

Thank you, Riddle_Decipher. As for two-sided printing, the link you refer to seems to have as a solution manually feeding the paper back in to print the second side. That works, though it is not the full functionality that I bought with the 8610.

Do you suppose HP might actually do an updated 8610 driver that allows us to print full pictures while also doing double-sided printing?

@Unhappy59

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate the quick response,

I'm glad the solutions I suggested have worked,

About the updated drivers, it's hard to say when they would be available, however, you are right as that is a possibility and as soon as it's available,

It should be installed on your computer via the automatic updates on windows.

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with your and I hope you have a good day ahead.
