Darn! Because that blog was a great link. Ok I will provide four to make up for that one. Here's the HP official link, HP's non-officia linkl, one that describes the steps mentioned a few posts back, and a video I believe will be quite helpful. Let me know if this works.

Well the BLOG link VisionAiry gave me no longer works so here's the short of it: You need to unplug the power and USB from the printer and then disassemble the printer to the point where you can interrupt the connection with the BIOS battery on the control board long enough to reset the BIOS ( 1 minute will do ). As I recall you have to remove a couple of the front bezels and the side bezel then disconnect three ribbon cables and remove the circuit board. Slip a business card under the clip that holds the battery to interrupt the circuit. You'll have to find disassembly instructions on your own 'cause I don't remember the details but the objective is to get the right side cover off and gain access to the circuit board. In order to get the side cover off you must first remove a couple of the front cover pieces. I believe you start the disassembly by opening the front cover as you would to change ink and then find the "J" hook slots on the right to gently pry the "J" hooks out of their slots. The bezel around the feed trays and the one around the SD card slots as I recall come off first......

Cymro33 actually shared two great links on another post to help out with these instructions.
Click this link and scroll down until you see RESETTING.
Click this link to see a video of the above instructions.
I saw these and wanted to share them here too. Thanks for your valuable input everyone. I hope this helps!

To override the Ink Expiration issue, it may seem complicated at first but I must say the blog we were discussing earlier in this thread seems to be the best solution but I have sent you those instructions you have requested. Good luck!

We should all boycott HP. I have had major problems recently with HP products, both a laptop and the issue of expired ink cartridges on HP 8250. I cannot override the problem. HP should be responsible for the loss of our printers when it is their software that is the problem. HP is responsible whether they wrote the software or bought it. Problem is I don't know of another printer company that has a better printer. Real estate laws protect the buyers not the agent. Why shouldn't commodity laws protect the buyer?
