Managed to get in touch with HP employee Tino.
almost 5 hours we were battling it out over the phone and it now seems to be holding!
I would like to commend this young man for a sterling job done...He diffused my anger and was a true professional.

What remains though is the loss of all the paper and toner that I have had !!

HP I think a few vouchers are in order!

So what did they come up with root cause for you?

The sequence of uninstalling the printer, then re-installing the printer (my case an HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color M175nw) THEN rebooting the printer (Off-->On) solved my error message:

PCL XL Error

Subsystem:  TEXT

Error:  InternalError 0x50

File Name: cheettext.c

Line Number:  710

I'm grateful!

Hi,

I'm sorry to drag up your printer problem again, but you seem to be having the same problem as me.  The subject title was slightly different, but your actual printer is the same.  I have tried numerous times to re-install the printer drivers and get new ones, but the errors go away for a few days and then come back again.  Would you have the time to be more specific about how you removed and then re-installed?  We are a school and have about six of these printers - most of them seem to have an error at any one time, we are using up loads of ink and paper, not to mention wasting my time, so any help that you can give would be greatly appreicated!  HP support will only talk to me if I'm right next to the printer on the phone - the phone is in the school office, not where the printers are located, so HP were no help! thanks, Tammy
